BMHS - Marketing 1
- Teacher: Mark Campbell
Humanity has needs and wants. We seek to satisfy those needs and wants with goods and services. Well, businesses provide those goods and services because they are motivated by profit or money. How do businesses inform consumers of the goods and services they possess? Promotion may come to mind. However, Marketing is not only promotion it is everything that happens from the innovative idea for a product to getting that product to the consumer's hands. In this course you will explore the different functions of Marketing such as: selling, distribution, marketing information management, promotion, pricing, product service management and the marketing plan. This is a hands on course that focuses on retail sales and Entrepreneurship. You will also have an opportunity to be a part of a national association for students in Marketing called DECA(Distributive Education Clubs of America). DECA enhances the co-curricular education of students with interest in marketing, management, hospitality, and finance. DECA prepare students to be: academically prepared, professionally responsible, community oriented, and experienced leaders. I encourage you to be engaged in this course and actively participate as much as possible and you will see results. Welcome to Marketing 1.
